Jila Husseini was born on September 21, 1964 in the city of Saqiz. Jila is the daughter of the arbitrator and scholar Mehran Husseini (Sheikh Mehran). At the age of fifteen, Jila began writing poetry. Jila Husseini owned a rich library and played an important role in promoting and supporting K urdish poetry. She was also one of the founders of the Kurdish Mewlawi Literary Council in the city of Sine. On September 27, 1996, while heading to Tehran to visit the Kurdish poet Sherko Bekes, Jila and her tenth daughter, Jina, lost their lives in a car accident.
