Eyşe Şan

A kurdish woman who was born in Amad in 1938 into a singer family. But her art and her voice were blocked by her family and they said: For women and girls, singing is a great sin. For this reason, Ayshe Shan separated from them and her husband and went to Dilok alone. With her art and voice, she spreads the pain and resistance of the Kurdish women in Istanbul in her songs and is famous, but she does not get enough proceeds for her work. For years she was exploited with her efforts, she was always poor and lonely. When the coup took place in Turkey in 1971, the genuineness of the Kurds and the Kurdish language were banned, so Ayshe Shan emigrated to Germany. Here her daughter died shortly afterwards, and she withdrew from the public eye for a few years, only to leave her voice again in South Kurtıstan in 1979 Ayshe Shan died on December 18th 1996 in Izmir of cancer.
