Adile Xanî Jaff

Adile Khani Jaff was born in Sanandaj in 1847. This is the second largest city in the east. The Jaff tribe is the largest tribe in Kurdistan and is home to the Zagros region, which is divided between Iran and Iraq. Adile Khani came from the famous aristocratic family Sahibqeran, she married the Jaff tribal leader. Ms. Adile had a great influence on the work of the Jaff tribe in the Sharazor Plain. Her father was the great minister of the Persians and her uncle was the great minister of the Ottoman Empire and Saudi Arabia. Adile Jaff was one of the women’s authorities in the region. The British attacked Ottoman Iraq in World War I and occupied it in 1917 as part of the Treaty of Mudros. In 1918, with the founding of the Mosul Commission, they wanted to give the Kurds autonomy. They gave power to Mahmoud Barzani, but he rebelled and began the campaign. Adil Khani Jaff died in Helebce in 1924.
